MSA Endurance Recruitment Film
Curtis Winsor // March 7, 2015
A small private school, the Miller School of Albemarle, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains is one of the few schools in the country to offer cycling a school supported sport. In order to bring cycling more into the mainstream, The Miller School Endurance program partnered with other private schools and public schools alike to create the Virginia Highschool Mountain Bike League, creating a venue for middle school and high school aged students to compete with their peers on safe, visibile trails on bikes. Drawing huge numbers, racing has grown from the grassroots level in the Virginia.
The Miller School Endurance program has mroe than 20 members on the team representing 6 different countries. Their head coach is also a former professional cyclist.
Winsor Creative was hired initially in 2012 to create a film to showcase the relatively new program. The video generated massive amounts of interest from prospective students from around the world. The video extended past the cycling world as well and the school used the video for recruitment purposes.
A few years later, with great success and more growth, MSA needed a second video. Over 2 days we shot various mountain bike, road bike, time trial, interview, and school scenes all over Albemarle county and the 1600 MSA campus.
